Trump expressed hope that he will achieve peace, go down in history as a peacemaker and that “America’s golden age is coming.”
US President Donald Trump said that World War III is “not that far away,” but also expressed confidence that it will not happen during his presidency. He said this on Wednesday, February 19, during a speech at the Future Investment Initiatives Institute summit in Miami, CNN quoted him as saying.
“Around the world, I am moving quickly to end wars, resolve conflicts and restore peace to the planet – I want peace, and I don’t want to see … everybody getting killed,” he said.
“And look at the deaths in the Middle East, and the deaths that are happening in the war between Russia and Ukraine that is going on, and we are going to put an end to that,” Trump added.
At the same time, Trump said that if the administration of former US President Joe Biden had remained in power for another term, its policies would have led to the outbreak of World War III within a year.
Recall that on February 18, the first direct negotiations between the US and Russian delegations on ending the war in Ukraine took place in Saudi Arabia.
US President Donald Trump made a number of statements following the meeting of the Russian and US delegations.
